Being a Christ-follower

A simpler way to look at faith whether or not someone is a Christ-follower.  There are many “Christians” who are not necessarily Christ-followers.  Someone who follows Christ will do the things Christ did and over time will begin to act and be like Him.  So then the question becomes, “How do we do that?”  I believe that it can be summed up with a little statement:

Receive. Grow. Give it away…

True Christianity is a process of ongoing growth and transformation.  Transformation begins when we receive from God.  As we receive love, forgiveness, and purpose, we grow in our understanding and live these things out in a greater way.  These changes then cause such a blessing in our lives that the natural thing to do is to share or give them away to others.  Along the way, we learn who God is and what He does.  INFUSION pp. 4-5

One of the key passions I have in my life is ending spectator Christianity.  In my books and when I preach, one of my main goals is to equip and motivate the Body of Christ to be the Body of Christ!  The hands, feet and mouth of Jesus Christ right where people live, work and play each day!  Our families, co-workers and those we spend our spare time with should all be growing closer to Jesus.  This is God’s will!  He wants to use us to help people connect with the Father!

As you begin a new week, my prayer is that you are driven to be a Christ follower and to be salt and light this week at your workplace, school and wherever you set your foot!  Expect God to do great things through you each and every day!  If you can believe it, God will do it!

In this together – Jack
