People often make God complicated. In some ways there are things about God that we will spend eternity learning, but in many cases, God is very simple. I continually strive to explain God in a way that each individual can understand. People have made Christianity very complicated by the way things are taught, how people are trained, and the manner in which ministry often takes place. I believe much of this is man-made and, at times, unneccessary. Even the word Christian has become complicated. In fact, there are times when I don’t like the word because it has so many different meanings, and sometimes no meaning at all. INFUSION p. 3
The longer I have been serving God, the more focussed I have become on the basics. I came out of a very intellectual background so I had a passion to learn knowledge about God and had a passion to answer all of the “why” questions. I dug into it all and found there are answers to the “why” questions but at the end of it all, people had more questions and many times, actually didn’t want answers, they were just trying to navigate through their pain or difficulties. So over time, I’ve been more focussed on God’s power to bring change to circumstances and lives.
Basics – God loves you with an unmovable and immeasurable love! God has a plan and purpose for you that He reveals through His Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. Jesus overcame sin, sickness and death – His followers are overcomers too!
I believe if we understand and walk in the clear facts about who Jesus is and what He wants to do in our lives, many of our complicated questions will either be answered or may not even matter anymore! I have had people who dig and search for inconsistencies or things that will prolong their questioning which goes nowhere!
Outstanding ministry guys. I caonnt say thank you enough for the investment of time, talent, and resources you guys made for our kids. I know that Christ is pleased! We had a great time and this was an experience our kids will never forget.
