I woke up this morning to the sound of rain. I decided to stay in bed and pray under the sound of the fall rains. When I was leaving to go to the office, a flock of geese flew overhead. It immediately hit me that yes, the seasons were changing. A phrase I often use suddenly hit me – “Sow every season so that you can reap every season”. Let’s see what God’s Word says about sowing.
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:7-9
This verse is often used when referring to sinful or negative things. Basically, people want to let us know we got what we deserved – you know – “you reap what you sow”. That is only one side of the scripture and then there is the good fruit! the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Be encouraged today and sow seed into a goal or dream that you have. If you are finishing a degree, sow seeds of study and diligent work. If you are climbing out of debt or building wealth, sow seeds into learning God’s will and ways on money and how to implement them into our world’s system in a way that you will prosper! If you want a promotion, sow seeds into areas of your life where you need to grow to position yourself that you are promotable and expect God to promote you!
Over the years in both my personal life and in career/ministry I have learned that wherever I focus my time, energy and seed, I prosper in that area later on. I spent years learning about writing, publishing and teaching/speaking. You are reading this today because of seed I planted in my own life for the past 10 years or more!
Whatever dream God has given you, whatever your imagination can conceive, sow seed into that today. Just as the seasons change, the seed you sow today will reap a harvest in the seasons to come! This scripture is clear! When you sow into the things of the Spirit, you will reap a harvest. This applies to all Spirit-led actions and goals that you have.
Stay encouraged today. Do not give up! You will reap a harvest if you keep going and trust that God will do what He promises in His Word!
I have a million things to do today, but I felt led to sow something into you first! May God bless you mightily today!
In this together – Jack
